Calamity Day Adjustments To Schedule
Due to legislation requiring districts to make up school days, beginning Wednesday, March 26, ACS will add a half hour to every Wednesday until the end of this school year.

Navigators will start 1/2 hour later on those days but will end at its normal time.

Additionally, the last day of school is now May 29, instead of May 28. Afternoon bus schedules will also be adjusted by 30 minutes. If you have questions, please contact your individual school building or the administration office.
Northside Announcements
The Northside third grade classes used the money they made from their economics project to pay for the Akron Zoo to come to their classrooms. Students were able to see and touch many fascinating animals like a great horned owl, parrot, chinchilla, South American raccoon, and lizard. They learned all about the habitats of the animals as a great ending activity to the animal unit in science class.
For just $1, students can purchase flowers to decorate. Flowers will be available through May 16.  All flowers will need to be turned in by Monday, May 19th, to be judged.  Winners will be announced on May 20. Good luck!
Even the littlest members of the Northside family are learning to read. Check out Mrs. Edwards' daughter, Grace, reading her favorite book!
Mrs. Grove's 1st grade students put some eggs in an incubator 21 days ago. This weekend, the eggs started to hatch and we now have several cute little baby chickens. Welcome to 1st grade, babies!
The first graders of Northside Elementary practice their science standards by learning about force, friction and different types of motion!  They are studying 4 types of motion including zig-zag, back and forth, straight, and circular.  They went to 5 different centers where they rocked in a rocking chair, zig-zagged through scooters, moved back and forth on a swing, threw tennis balls, and hula-hooped.
